Professor Kev Dhaliwal is Professor of Molecular Imaging and Healthcare Technology at the University of Edinburgh and a Consultant Physician in Respiratory Medicine where he subspecialises in Pulmonary Infection and Tuberculosis,

Kev graduated from the University of Edinburgh and completed general professional training in London before returning to Edinburgh to undertake a period of consolidated laboratory research in the Lung Inflammation Group. During his PhD he developed close links with the Department of Chemistry (Professor Mark Bradley) and, along with Professor Chris Haslett, the group initiated a strategic partnership to develop and translate optical molecular imaging in pulmonary disease.

He now leads a translational group working across multiple disciplines and is currently performing translational research in collaboration with the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh developing and applying non-invasive methodologies for imaging inflammation. Kev is the Chief Investigator of 6  ‘first in human’ trials of optical molecular imaging reagents and devices. He collaborates widely with industry and is passionate about translating physical sciences into healthcare and developing innovation pathways.
